I just moved to the asset side of things and we just received 500 Dell laptops that all get built the exact same way.
The old guy manually launches the bios and sets each setting by hand.
As soon as I saw this and saw that we need to do 500 of these I instantly thought this can be automated.
These are Dell laptops, we F12 on boot up and select BIOS settings which manually get set before we load on the Windows 10 OS.
I’m a Computer Scientist graduate and have sufficient programming skills but I’m unsure what languages or scripting options I have at my disposal for automating BIOS settings. I’ve only ever created programs and scripts to run on the OS, not outside of the OS in locations like the BIOS.
Does something exist that mimics full keyboard keystrokes and can holds a long string that we can use like a macro?
Do you guys have any suggestions on ways to automate this process?
