My computers clock keeps running too fast and I have to keep manually setting the time back.

Edit: thanks guys, too many responses to respond individually, but seems like replacing my battery is the best place to start

Windows 10 OS, Intel Core i5 @ 2.90GHz, B360M BAZOOKA (MS-7B24) MOBO, GeForce RTX 2070, OS installed on a Seagate SSD. Not sure what specs are relevant for this question though.

Over a year ago I noticed awhile ago that my phone time did not match my desktop. Lately, I also noticed while working from home that my desktop time did not match the time on my work PC (remote access).

I checked Google and it matched both my phone and work PC.

I have tried setting it to find the time automatically, but it just sits there and spins forever and doesn’t update my time, so I decided to just manually set it to match a Google search for my town’s time.

Fast forward a few months and it has creep ahead by a couple of minutes. So I try and set it automatically again. No luck, I set it manually.

Today, I noticed it has indeed crept ahead by a few minutes yet again.

What’s going on? Why is my PC time constantly getting ahead of the actual time?

FYI: So far I have not been paying attention if it is jumping ahead in one go, or gradually increasing. I’m going to start comparing it to my phones time down to the second each day and track this in case it can’t be solved with this thread.
